EVI Industries Acquires Ed Brown Distributors

Adds team, product representations important to Central U.S. growth objectives

MIAMI — Commercial laundry and drycleaning equipment distributor EVI Industries Inc. (EVI) reports it has completed its acquisition of Dallas-based Ed Brown Distributors, a distributor of commercial laundry products and a provider of installation and maintenance services to the on-premise and vended laundry segments of the commercial laundry industry.

Consideration for the purchase of Ed Brown was paid in cash; the amount was not disclosed.

“With the acquisition of Ed Brown, we add a team of experienced sales and service personnel and new product representations that combined are important to achieving our growth objectives in the central region of the United States,” says Henry M. Nahmad, EVI’s chairman and CEO. “As is customary, the company will operate under its existing name and with its current team to provide continuity to customers, employees, and vendor partners.”

According to its company website, Ed Brown Distributors employs a workforce of 28 — led by President Gary Brown and Vice President Steve Brown — in serving customers in North Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Since 2016, EVI has acquired 26 businesses while following a buy and build philosophy; it describes itself as “the leader in the North American commercial laundry distribution and service industry.”
